MILDRED H. GERALD MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
The scholarship was established to honor the legacy of Mildred Hemingway Gerald, a lifelong educator and community service advocate.
Award:
The scholarship is $1000 with funds being made to the recipient selected by the Gerald Scholarship Committee.
Qualifications:
The scholarship will be open to male and female students in targeted areas who plan to attend a Historically Black College or University (HBCU). Applicants must have a cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) of at least 2.5.
Applicants must be affiliated with Horry County, SC or designated religious institutions to include: Cedar Branch Missionary Baptist Church (Loris, SC), Father’s Cup Overflow Ministries (Longs, SC), First Calvary Baptist Church (Durham, NC), First Church of God (Carrboro, NC), Sandy Plain Missionary Baptist Church (Carrboro, NC), and Seigle Avenue First Church of God (Charlotte, NC).
Requirements:
Applicants must submit a transcript, share information related to high school extra-curricular activities and community involvement, answer 1 essay question, and provide 2 letters of recommendation. Official transcripts and letters of recommendation can be emailed to movingforwardcarolina.org.

CHARGING FORTH SCHOLARSHIP
The Charging Forth Scholarship was created to honor a Northwood High School Senior who has demonstrated a passion for serving Chatham County and plans to attend college or trade school after high school.
Award:
The scholarship is $500 with funds being made to the recipient selected by the Charging Forth Scholarship Committee.
Qualifications:
One scholarship will be awarded to a Northwood student who demonstrates perseverance. No GPA requirements required. Students can use the scholarship for Community College, Trade/Technical School, as well as a 4 year university.
Requirements:
Applicants must submit a transcript and answer 3 essay questions. Transcripts can be emailed to movingforwardcarolina@gmail.com.

CAROLINA TEACHERS OF TOMORROW SCHOLARSHIP
The Carolina Teachers of Tomorrow scholarship was established to honor and support individuals who desire a career in education.
Award:
The scholarship award is $500.00 with funds being made to the recipient selected by the Teachers of Tomorrow Committee.
Qualifications:
The scholarship will be awarded to a senior in Chatham County enrolled in a college program with the intention of pursuing any major in education. Applicants must have at least a 3.0 GPA.
Requirements:
Applicants must submit a transcript, share information related to volunteer work, and answer 2 essay questions.
